Revd Rose Hudson-Wilkin and Trisha Rogers wait at City of London JustShare event about justice, debt and the credit crunch
JustShare is a coalition of churches, agencies and other bodies based at St Mary-le-Bow church, Cheapside, in the centre of the City of London committed to global development and social justice, seeking to empower the world’s poorest communities and campaigning for a just share of the world’s resources for all. 'Forgive Us Our Debts' was an event to speak to the City about the causes and consequences of third world debt and the credit crunch in the UK, and included lunch-hour music, talks and stalls for city workers, as well as a talk and discussion on 'The Coming First World Debt Crisis' in which Ann Pettifor (Director of Advocacy International and Operation Noah, previously Jubilee 2000) outlined the need for changes in the world financial system to replace our reliance on excessive debt and that would lead to a more just and sustainable world financial system from her book 'The Coming First World Debt Crisis.'
