A Persian kulah khud and shield, 19th century. The kulah khud with one-piece skull, riveted crown plate and screw-mounted spike of quadrangular section. The surface profusely chiselled with scrolling flowers and decorated with brass and silver inlays, the lower edge with calligraphic cartouches. Riveted plume sockets and adjustable nasal bar, the retaining screw replaced(?). Fitted with an aventail of butted iron and brass rings. Height ca. 55 cm.
