Back of the renovated Montefiore Windmill, MIshkenot Sha'ananim, hovers over one of the houses of the first Jewish neighborhood outside Old Jerusalem.


The Montefiore windmill built in 1857 hovering above one of the houses of Mishkenot Sha'ananim, the first Jewish neghborhood outside the Old City built by Sir Moses Montefiore part of which it is, it was built in 1855. The house has the appearance of the Old City wall to give it's residents the feeling of security. The windmill functioned for twenty years after it was built, it was restored in 2012 with a new cap and sails in the style of the originals. Jerusalem, Israel. June 18, 2021
