Marc van Rijsselberghe, founder of the Salt Farm Foundation, on his salt farm on the island of Texel in the Netherlands on 23 June 2020. Rising sea levels caused by global warming are causing salt water to seep into the soil on agricultural land. To deal with the consequences of the salinisation of densely populated areas dependent on agriculture, the Salt Farm Foundation is combining science and agronomy to find solutions for growing fruit and vegetables on saline land.
