When the thick sarcotesta is peeled from the seed, no ribs can be seen on the sclerotesta, but the apical région is very remarkable. À ring of eight to eleven lobes, separated by short but deep grooves surrounds the micropyle (fig. 1) and ten lobes surrounding the thus gives the impression of freemicropyle.
