Subconjunctival injections of various agents,such as the normal salt solution, bichloride ofmercury, cyanide of mercury, etc., are used ina number of affections of the eyeball, as for ex-. Undine. ample iritis, corneal ulcers, infective keratitisand cyclitis, several varieties of choroiditis andretinitis, and panophthalmitis. The conjunctivashould be anesthetized with holocain or cocain,the point of the sterile hypodermic needle in-serted near the margin of the cornea, well intothe subconjunctival tissue, and a few (3 to 10)drops of the solution injected.
