The first winter storm sweeps across the Northeastern on January 1-3, 2014, captured on Friday, January 3, 2014 in the NASA MODIS-Terra satellite image. The storm brought as much as 24 inches of snow in some areas. North is at the top and Washington, DC is seen in the Southwestern portion of the image while Boston, MA is in the Northeast. Winds pushed most of the cloud over over the ocean leaving the land mass relatively clear for the image.
