Two Guillemots (Uria aalge) on a Farne Island rock; one has just taken off with its mate extending its wings. A third member of the colony is seen defocused in the background. This was taken against a blue sky whilst navigating a channel between some Farne Island rocky outcrops. The Farnes are the home to massive colonies of Auks - puffins, guillemots and razorbills as well as other seabirds and sea life such as Kittiwakes, Arctic Terns and Grey (Gray) Seals.
