The quills are black, and at thebend of the wing, or metacarpal joint, is a strong horny spur, pointing for-wards, and nearly half an inch long, of a yellow colour, with a black tip,and very sharp ; the tail is entirely white, with a broad black bar near thetip ; the tibia is naked for an inch and a half above the knee ; the tar-sus is three inches in length, the general colour of the legs and toes deepcrimson-red.
