I could almost imagine the poet-players soul, as his music sprang out andupward toward the stars, meeting a sort oforacular response in the whispering needlesof the pine, as the nightwind from themountain rustled gently through them; forin his hands the flute, as said his directorin the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, nolonger remained a mere material instru-ment, but was transformed into a voice thatset heavenly harmonies into vibration.
