A Defiription of Hudfonj Straits. The 15th we flood 10 the Northward, and anchoring in 7fathoms water, found a ftrong ebb from the SSE. 3 miles anhour. The lall of this ride Icrs round to the Northward, butthe flood is fmall and uncertain ; Then ftandirg for the bay,next day fa^ the land bearing E. and could fee from the N£.to [lie ESE. The I ;ih wc flood Co the Eaflward, fhoaled to 4. fathomswater, being 5 leagues from the Eaft Ihore, and 3 leagues from the W. fliore, the Sood wefouadtorun g miles an hourto SSE. but the ebb much ftronger, and comes from the W. which Ihewa there are fraall rivers in the bay amongftthe broken land ; ftanding into the bay into 2. fathoms water,a leagues from the Ihore, and fending the boat, found one partof the bay to lie in SE. broken land, and many land banks ;it flows here South half VVellerly, 5 feci water.
