Height, 7 inches. 56—Statuette of Kuax-yix (Chien-lung) Carved in polished soapstone of cafe-au-lait hue, revealing in theback darker mottlings and at the crown a pale goddess is seated upright, her left foot folded beneath her,holding in her right hand a sacred scroll, and facing slightlytoward the right with head gently inclined. Her abundant hair,colored with India ink, is dressed high upon her head within asort of cowl. Her flowing robes falling low away from her breastare finely engraved with cloud-scrolls and fillets and an intricateborder. Height. 5% inches. -Statuette
