This opera- tion is done by cutting the skin on the face and exposing the bone over the roots of the teeth. Then bore through the bone by using the trephine (Fig. 3), and with a steel punch about three- eighths size drive the tooth into the mouth. If colts fail to shed their colt teeth, they should be pulled before they interfere with the growth of the permanent teeth.
