In 1873 he severed his connection with the .MutualLife Insurance Company and accepted llic posilimi of Vice-President of the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company of 416 THE PASSAIC VALLEY Newark, which came to him unsolicited. In 1876 he re-signed this vice-presidency and was appointed the State.
