Hertford House, a townhouse in Manchester Square is the home of The Wallace Collection. The Wallace Collection is a national museum, in 25 galleries are unsurpassed displays of French 18th century painting, furniture and porcelain with superb Old Master paintings and a world class armoury. Established in 1897 from the private collection created by Richard Seymour-Conway, 4th Marquess of Hertford who left it and the house to his illegitimate son Sir Richard Wallace.
