Guyon Store, Historic Richmondtown, Staten Island, New York
The store was constructed in 1819-20 by James Guyon Jr., proprietor of the Nautilus Inn in Tompkinsville. He sold the store to John Edwards in 1834. Soon thereafter, the west wing was added. He in turn sold the property to his brother, Webley Edwards, who operated his tailoring business here. When Webley moved his family to a new house next door, he retained the store, eventually renting it out to a variety of tenants. It is an official New York City landmark.
