Stacks of freshly sugared queijadas, a traditional custard pastry, are cooled before packing at the Queijadas do Morgado bakery and cafe in Vila Franca do Campo on Sao Miguel Island, Azores, Portugal. The cakes were created by nuns in the 16th century and called Queijadas de Vila Franca.
