Proganochelys quenstedti turtle, fossil skull. This species was described by Georg Baur in 1887. It is the oldest known extinct turtle. This specimen is from the Keuper deposit at Wurttemberg, Germany. The original specimen is at left, with a cast at right. The specimen and cast form part of the collections held at the Natural History Museum, London, UK.
