The 'Broken Line' memorial of the sinking of a passenger ferry in the Baltic Sea between Helsinki and Tallinn in 1994. The modern designed memorial stands in a small park, Suur Rannavarav bastion at the north end of Tallinn Old Town in Tallinn, Estonia, Baltic States The monument was erected in memory of those who lost their lives on the 'Estonia ferry, which sank on the night of 28 September 1994 sailing between Tallinn and Stockholm. The ferry sank with the loss of 852 lives, 757 of whom were never found and 137 rescued.
