Old Town Bridge over the Nidelva, a twin lifting wooden bascule type, build 1861, replacing an earlier one of 1681, with brightly painted old wooden warehouses beyond. The white hilltop fortress of Kristiansten Festning was built by General Johan Caspar de Cicignon after the great fire of 1681 which destroyed most of the city.
