It's not often nowadays that you’ll see four Leeds and Liverpool old working boats in one place. It's June 21st 2014 and the Burscough Heritage Groups annual heritage weekend with a boat gathering on the L and L canal at Burscough. The two boats on the right, Leeds and Liverpool Long boats are ex H and R Ainscoughs corn boat's “Ambush” the motor boat and Viktoria the dumb boat. In the centre passes a Leeds and Liverpool Short boat the “Severn” on a trip into Liverpool while in the background on the left is “Kennet”. She is also a Leeds and Liverpool short boat, now owned by The Leeds and Liverpool Canal society and has been converted into a floating exhibition space that tells the history of the canal.
