A rather strong, deep, rich, loamy soil is con- sidered most suitable. Sow the seed as early in Spring as practicable, in shallow drills 1 foot apart, covering with fine soil, which should be pressed down by the use of a light roller or the back of a spade. When the young plants are strong enough thin out to 4 inches apart. Keep the surface of the ground open and free from weeds by hoeing frequently. 1 oz. will sow 100 feet of row, 5 lbs. is required for 1 acre. Pkts. 10c. White Large Globe (Southport Strain).
