Burial cist at Nether Largie Mid Cairn, Kilmartin

This cairn dates back to the bronze age and was excavated in 1929 by Joseph Craw. Within a 33m diameter cairn two cists were discovered but neither contained any artefacts. This southern-most cist is decorated with carved axe-heads. This is the middle of five cairns strung out in a line along the valley floor. Managed by Historic Scotland.
