Bharwad Man, Kutch
Kutch is a large district in North-West Gujarat, with a population of only 2 million. It is inhabited by a variety of ethnic groups who have managed to preserve their traditions. The Bharwad are a Hindu caste found in Gujarat. They consider themselves to be descended from the mythological Nandvanshi line that began with Nanda, the foster-father of Krishna. The Bharwads are generally considered to be among the lowest of the pastoral castes, being engaged primarily in the herding of goats and sheep.
