SinceMr. Crowthers time no more definite news has been received of this bear,though other travellers have reported statements of Arabs and Moors thatsuch a creature exists in the mountains of Eastern Morocco and WesternAlgeria. In Algerian Arabic there are distinct names for both bear andhyaena. Bear is called Debb (£•■>), plural Debuba ; whereas hyasna is calledDeba {tr), plural Debua.
