FORT IRWIN, Calif. – A UH-72 Lakota Helicopter passes by an OPFOR Surrogate Vehicle from Blackjack Troop, 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, during their defense of the National Training Center’s “Whale Gap” against elements from the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, April 9, 2017. This phase of NTC Rotation 17-05 was designed to stretch the “Raiders” Brigade by forcing them to attack in multiple directions, while also contending with a robust disruption zone.
