The brace consists of aleather corset accurately moulded to the body andproperly strengthened with well-tempered steelstays, shaped to conform to the contour of thebody when in a normal condition, thus furnishingspecial support to the vertebrae involved. Owing to its funnel shape above the waist andby means of crutches placed under the arms, itproduces partial suspension, which not only pre-vents the further spread of the disease, but com-pletely controls the disposition to inflammation socommon to these cases.
