Jerualem, Israel. a "No entry" sign overshadows the new Chords Bridge at the city entrance.
The grandiose bridge (387-feet tilted mast, 66 strings, both can be clearly seen in the picture) is one of the most controversial construction projects in the holy was designed by world-famouse architecture Santiago Calatrava. Many feel that the bridge is out of proportion and does not fit the character of the city. Others, however, applaud it. The bridge will not come into service at least until 2010, when the Jerusalem Light Rail line will be opened.
