Tombstone Of A Jewish Man, Chisinau Cemetery

Chișinău (also historically known as Kishinev) is the capital city of the Republic of Moldova, which gained its independence from the USSR in 1991. With a population of 500,000, Chișinău is Moldova's main industrial and commercial center. It is a vibrant city, with ubiquitous construction sites and a blend of the former Soviet days and of Western modernity. The largest graveyard of Eastern Europe is located on the outskirts of Chisinau. In line with the eastern European Orthodox Christian tradition, Tombstones depict the deceased performing their favorite occupation, in a very lively way.
