The portrait, in its artistic beauty,will speak for itself, even though the lips utter no portrait, with its expressive lineaments and imperialdignity and grace, is copied from a photograph of life. Itwill be readily acknowledged by all lovers of art that theengraver has exerted almost inunitable skiU in its execu-tion, deserving high praise. The delicacy and artistic per-fection in the outline and finish of the face, and theaccurate drawing of the dress and drapery, with the orna-ments which adorn the person of the Empress, combine inpresenting an object upon which the eye must dwell withpleasure.
