Glenquicken Moor stone circle, Galloway, Scotland, UK, looking N to Cairnsmore of Fleet. A centre-stone circle with 29 low boulders surrounding a central grey granite pillar high weighing over 4 tons. The central area is cobbled & the circle stones are graded up to the three tallest at the SSE. Two circles to the NW have been destroyed & an adjacent cairn was flattened in 1809. A cist was found containing the skeleton of a man with one arm almost severed by a green stone axe. The circle lies on level ground in rough grazing S of the Old Military Road from Anwoth to Creetown.
