Kinale Forest is located 60kms from Nairobi along the Nairobi- Naivasha highway, Kinungi route. The forest has several largely unexplored tourist attractions including Thiririka Water Falls, Theta Dam, breathtaking scenes along the Kikuyu Escarpment, hiking routes through the Old Kijabe center and Kenton Hill View Point. Hikers and visitors to the forest pay an entry charge of Ksh 200, whereas campers pay Ksh 650 per person. This is a worthwhile nature retreat, a place to explore and unwind. Kinale Forest is 10,504hectares in size consisting of indigenous forest, bush land, bamboo, grasslands and forest plantations. Kenya Forest Service manages the forest in collaboration with the Community Forest Association (CFA), who assist in forest conservation and management. Like all other CFA’s countrywide, Kinale CFA has duly elected and registered members and leadership. The Service supports and works with CFA members who are duly elected through laid-out regulations and the law. During the ongoing long rainfall season, the station intends to plant trees on hectares, approximately 200,000 tree seedlings
