His Lordship was summoned by writ to the House of Peers bythis title, 16 Oct. 1840, as one of the co-heirs ; being sole heir of JoanLovell, Lady Stapleton, eldest daughter of Joan, sister of William, se-cond Viscount and seventh Baron Beaumont, in whom the Barony wasvested by descent from her father John, 6th Baron, who sat in Parlia-ment in the reign of King Henry 6th. He was 6. 4 June 1805, w. 9 , the Hon. Isabella-Anne Browne, eldest daughter of Lord Kil-maine, and has issue, *Hon. Agnes, b. 15 Aug. Lordship is the ehlest son of Thomas Stapleton, Esq., of Carlton Hall, York-shire, who was b. in 1778, and d. 4 July 1839 ; having married 1st, in 1802, Maria-Juliana, daughter of Sir Robert Gerard, Bart., who d. 9 Feb. 1827; and 2ndly, 28Sept. 1829
