Zuhdand Campbell (1888: 301) described a penis-sheath which was made from a hollowed out 'young calabash'. Southern Natal A penis-sheath (BM 59-9-8-50) (Fig. 39), in the British Museum, decorated with a strip pendant, was obtained at Port Natal in 1859. No examples of cala- bash penis-sheaths were seen in the field.
