Nakba Day or "catastrophe" refers to the displacement of Palestinians following the establishment of the State of Israel in Palestine. More than 750,000 Palestinians were expelled and displaced into refugee camps that still exist in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, following the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. In the Gaza Strip, more than two third of the 2 million residents are refugees from the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and they still live in overcrowded refugee camps across the Strip
