Preparing & cooking meat in a cauldron over a wood fire during a display by The Ermine Street Guard Roman re-enactment society at Loggerheads Country Park, Denbighshire, Wales, UK. The woman playing a Romano-British camp follower wears provincial Roman dress. Beside her are legionaries with lorica segmentata body armour, a javelin (pilum) & scutum shields. To the rear is a hand-stitched goat-skin tent known as a papilio or butterfly. This display was given outside the Loggerheads Countryside Centre for National Archaeology Day 19 July 2003.
