Keitel joins Colombian Naval Infantry Lt. Col. Erick Del Rio, the deputy commander of SPMAGTF-SC, as the first partner nation officers to ever be a part of the SPMAGTF-SC staff; the first step in making a multinational amphibious task force capable of providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the region. The Marines and sailors of SPMAGTF-SC are conducting security cooperation training and engineering projects alongside partner nation military forces in Central and South America. The unit is also on standby to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the event of a hurricane or other emergency in the region.
