Mr. De Long was born in Philo, Illinois,July 29, 1863, and belongs to that branchof the De Long family of which the famousArctic explorer was also a father, C. G. De Long, is a native of. He is a wide-awakeand enterprising business man whose keendiscernment and unflagging industry havebeen potent forces in his success. A stanchRepublican in politics, he does all in hispower to promote the growth of his party,yet has always refused to hold office.
