This issue was necessary, from the fact that no provisionhad been completed to furnish the Texas Indians on their arrival. Previous to leaving the Brazos agency, I sold the whole stock of hogs belong-ing to the Indians, and placed Mr. Buttorff, a very respectable citizen, in chargeof the agency buildings; and Captain Plummer left a small party of troops at the H^ ^.
