Thus Godsconducting the Ifraelites through the Red-Sea, anddrowning the Egyptians, is called Gods falvation, Ex ?od. xiv. 17. Thus the deliverance of the Ifraelites outof the hands of the Phiiiftines, is called a great falva-tion, 1 Sam. xiv. 45. And indeed this is the ufuaifenfe of the word throughout the Old-teftament.
