The New Orleans Horticultural So- ciety held its regular monthly meeting April 15, at the Association of Com- merce building. President P. A. Cho- pin and Secretary C. R. Panter were in their places and a large membership was present. As it was a public meeting, six of the sixteen ward clubs of the home garden organization, composed of flower-loving women, sent representatives, headed by their president, Mrs. J. Michaelis. President Chopin addressed the assem- blage and asked the ladies present to help make the coming flower show, the first one for several years, a financial suc- cess. The exhibitors will undoubtedly do their utmost to make it an artistic success. Mrs. J. Michaelis and several of the other ladies spoke of the great inter- est manifested by the diflPerent wards of the city. Each ward has offered one prize for the best kept lawn and also one for the best looking garden. All the wards, acting together, have offered three prizes for the best looking gar- dens in the city. Before leaving, the ladies offered the full support and cooperation of the home garden asso- ciation in making the flower show a success. After the close of the public meeting the membexs sat in special session and the site for the show was again dis- cussed. Chairman J. A. Stockier, of the exhibition committee, brought in
