While some of these tanks when new,are able to withstand considerable pressure, many of these installationsare second-hand vessels weakened by interior corrosion. Such in-stances occur because the garage keeper or factory foreman has no ideaof the tremendous force exerted on a tank by pressures no greaterthan fifty or sixty pounds a square inch.
