Flares are launched from a C-130J Hercules assigned to the 39th Airlift Squadron during a training mission over a range in New Mexico, Dec. 13, 2016. Dyess is home to the 39th and 40th Airlift Squadrons which maintain quality aircrew and aircraft to mobilize, deploy and provide intratheater aircraft worldwide. They support theater commander's requirements with combat-delivery capability through tactical air land and air drop operations as well as humanitarian efforts and aeromedical evacuation.
