View SSE of Dun Torcuill Iron Age galleried dun near the SW end of the tidal Loch an Duin, North Uist, Western Isles, Scotland, UK. A circular drystone fort with a central court some in diameter inside walls varying from to thick. The walls stand to over 3m on the S side & there is a mural cell at the SW entered from the court. The entrance passage at the NW faces the causeway linking the islet to the shore. Often described as a broch, but generally considered to be a dun with broch features.
