Halfway through the "correfoc" or fire running event, participants gather in a square and are showered with buckets of water by residents from the overhead balconies. This is usually accompanied by loud music that blares from a pa and is necessary to cool off. Wet clothes also help prevent burns from the millions of firework sparks that'll soon fly off in all directions.
