Cpl. K. Polk, a photographer from , captured this image, identified as 111-SC-39661. The photograph was taken on September 7, 1918, and received by the Records and Policy Division on March 12, 1919. The photo shows members of the 305th Infantry, part of the 77th Division, returning from the town of Longeuval to ambulances during their time in Aisne, France. The 77th Division consisted of men from the Metropolitan portion of New York, who were trained at Camp Upton in Yaphank, Long Island, New York.
