After two years spent in the employ of Mr. Littlehe resigned to become the treasurer of the S. L. Davidson Mortgage Company, operat-ing in Kansas, Colorado and Texas. Attracted by the safety of the irrigated farm, resigned his treasurership in the fall of 1889 to establish himself in business InSalt Lake City. In 1896 the firm of Miller & Viele was established, butMr. Miller is now sole owner of the business. In 1898 he became the financial corre-spondent of the Union Central Life Insurance Company and since that time has placedthe funds of that corporation throughout the mountain states. Mr. Millers farmmortgage operations extend over Utah, Idaho and portions of Oregon, Wyoming, Colo-rado and Nevada. He occupies an extensive suite of offices on the eighth floor of theKearns building in Salt Lake City and has a branch office in the Sonna building ofPoise, Idaho. In the extent of the field and volume of business Miller & Viele, beingthe firm name under which Mr. Miller operates, is the largest organization in the inter-mountain region handling conservative farm mortgages.
