The Lotus Receiving Festival or 'Rab Bua' is celebrated in Bang Phli township, Samut Prakan, just south of Bangkok, annually at the end of the Buddhist Rains Retreat (Lent) on Awk Pansa. Thousands of revelers will line the banks of the Samrong Canal to throw lotus flowers at a boat carrying the famous Luang Poh To Buddha image. Other colorful floats join the procession, with oarsmen and women wearing traditional Thai costumes.
