Detail of a Green Man carved on the eastern capital of the south doorway of the church of St Mary and St David, Kilpeck, one of the finest examples of the Herefordshire School of late-Romanesque carving. It may represent "man tempted to eat forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge" as subjects on the eastern column and jamb include symbols of temptation: fruit, flowers, serpents and dragons. Ornamental moulding of stars.
