Statue in homage to João Franco in Guimarães, Portugal
João Franco Castelo Branco (1855-1929). MP elected in Guimarães in 1884. He was for several times sectretary of state and minister of several ministries. He gave the administrative autonomy to the Azores in 1895. This area is now classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
